Who we are

Dr Amy-Jane Beer is a biologist with 10 years experience in science and natural history publishing. She is a keen outdoor pursuits enthusiast, enjoying kayaking, hillwalking, fellrunning and travel.

She is author of several books and magazine articles, former editor of the successful partwork magazines Wildlife of Britain and Animals Animals Animals, and editor of Mammals UK, a quarterly magazine for the People’s Trust for Endangered Species.

Roy Halpin is an advanced teacher of Geography and GIS. He has been involved in outdoor education for 20 years and is a qualified coach in several disciplines. He is never happier than when out exploring hills, rivers and dales with his friends, on foot, by kayak or on two knobbly tyres.
